Sugar-based beverages become more and more popular, and because of this, they are made increasingly. This essay will discuss the causes and ways how to make people consume them less.
There are many reasons why people like drinking sweet beverages. First of all, sweet things are attractive to people since their childhood. The recent research indicated that when someone consumes the sugar in any kind, then a specific substance is being produced in the brain that makes this person feel happy. Scientists call it the hormone of happiness, and the same substance is produced when people use drugs. Some scholars report that consuming sugar-based products is the same as addiction. In addition, such drinks are not expensive and carry energy for the human body that implicates some benefits. Finally, people try to avoid drinking just water, and so they substitute it with sugar-based drinks.
On the other hand, it was already proven that drinking sweet beverages bring considerable problems to consumers' health. That is why the government should encourage its citizens not to drink them, and this can be accomplished with a complicated approach. Firstly, officials should educate people about the harm of using such drinks trough social media. An especially effective method is to illustrate the consequences of the habit of consuming sweeties. For instance, the teeth suffer from the sugar, and quite frequently, the extra weight can be gained. Secondary, the easiest solution is to rice the prices for sugar-based drinks and decrease thу prices for other types of not-harmful beverages.
To sum up, it can be said that sweet drinks are consumed increasingly because of the similarity to drugs, and its consumption leads to the harm of the human body that must be explained to people in a quite accessible way.
The pie chart below presented the capture data describing people who live in Australia but have been given birth in another place and the percentages for each country. Additionally, the table illustrates that where do these people with different nationalities live now.
Broadly speaking, the plenty of people who now live in Australia were born there while the least amount of people who are in this country now are from Netherland. It is worth noting, that the majority of Chinese are living in urban and only a negligible number of them are in rural.
A specific analysis reveals that the combined percentages for people who are not Australian and are living in this country equaled the 27% which is way less than the percentages for people who live and born there. Another noteworthy point is that the percentages of people who are from New Zealand, China, and Netherland matched the 6% which is not as much as percentage of people who born in the UK.
According to the data based on the table it can be extracted that basically most of the nationalities are living in the cities and only a small number of them are in the rural and this is no exception to China which only 1% of them live in rural areas. Furthermore, the amount of people who are from the UK and Netherland and live in the city are almost matched the 90%. there are two major reasons explaining why there is a surge in number of people drinking sugar-sweetened beverages. Chief of these is that artificial additives and favours are added to such kind of drinks to make them tastier. This, sooner and latter, makes consumers become dependent on them, driving up consumption. Added to this is the fact that people nowadays are constantly bombarded with a lot of adverstisements for sugar-packed drinks, whether they are watching television, going online, or walking down on the streets. As a result, they tend to opt for sugary -packed drinks over healthier ones
To address this situation, first and formost, we need to raise public awareness of health risks associated with over-consumption of high-sugar drinks. This can be implemented by launching campaigns in a national scale via social media platforms and it is immesely important that well-known celebrities, fluencers should get involved in such activities so that these education campaigns can bear fruit. Another solution that has a long -term implications is that schools should incorporate lessons related to the harm of excessive consumption of sugary beverages into their curriculum so that students are keenly conscious of this issue, which in turn helps them to make healthier drink choices.
in conclusion, the increased consumption of sugary drinks is ascribed to the addition of artifical sweeteners to these drinks, and the active involvement of high-profile public figures in awareness-raising campaigns and the school education could be effective remedies to reduce sugary consumption
