Writing Task 1

The illustration depicts the numerous steps in treating rainwater before it becomes good for drinking in Australian towns. Oerall, being collected from houses, it can be in-taken after it has been processed by being filtered and then being treated by chemicals.

Initially, the rain that falls on the rooftop is collected by the gutter and then runs through the pipe at the side of the house and gets into the drain at the bottom of the house. Every house collects water in this way, and then it is passed through underground drains to water filter.

The rain water passes through the water filter to remove any impurities. Once it has been filtered, it runs through the pipes to a storage tank and afterwards to a water treatment. At this stage the water is treated with chemicals in order to make it fit for consumption. When the water is ready for drinking, it travels back along pipes that lead back to the houses of the town where people can use it for daily consumption.
