Some people think that the best way to improve road safety is to increase the minimum legal age for driving a car or motorbike. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

It is well known that driving a car or a motorcycle follows from some dangers, which are mostly relevant to accidents, car crashes, even fatal incidents. In order to improve road safety, some people claim that increasing the minimum age for obtaining car or motorbike license, could have the desirable results.

At first appearence, this aspect seems to be a logical and easy way to enhance safety on the streets because people would be more mature and aware when they will be allowed to drive. This appoach though focuses only to the treatment of one cause of accedents and of generally problems that apper on the road; the immature drivers, who do are not always coincided with young people. Notably, young people and especially new drivers tend to be more careful when driving due to their feeling of insecurity and lack of experience.

Furthermore, there are several other reasons that threaten the road safety that can not be faced this way. The main cause appears to be the consumption of big amounts of alcohol by the drivers, which is related to lack of awareness, cautiousness and reflex actions. Lack of sleep, absence of security measures, carelessness and extreme self-confidence about driving skills can also affect negatively when driving and risk the road safety.

In my opinion, the most effecient way to prevent accidents of every kind and ensure the road safety is to constantly inform and remind people about the importance of driving carefully and according to the law, with respectfullness to theirselfs and other people who are on road. This can only be achieved if the government in coorporation with police and driving schools organises speeches, seminars and generally events that awake continually the obligation of safe driving of the drivers.

In conclusion, increasing the minimum legal age for driving is a fisrt step for improving the safety on the road, but there are many other facts that threaten our security, which can only be dealed with by constantly education and information of the drivers.
