An increasing section of the public are opting for cosmetic surgery to look beautiful. This essay shall put forth reasons for this new trend, however, I think this is a negative development because it upsets family budget and also have detrimental effects.
Admittedly, cosmetic surgeries help improve upon some people's general appearance thereby boosting their confidence level. Some people instead of avoiding sedentary lifestyles and also checking their diets opt for cosmetic operations to get rid of excess fats from their body tissues. In the long run, they can join modelling agencies which would fetch them contracts and hence a lot of money.
Nonetheless, to perform such surgeries, one requires huge sums of money for the specialist who will undertake the operation. The money which could have been used to undertake a viable project by the individual is being used for this. Also, to maintain that particular shape, they have to revisit these specialist facilities for months after the procedure which also requires money. Secondly, prior to the surgery, certain chemicals are injected into the body to help shrink some fats before the surgical incision is made. Every patient undergoing surgery is also at risk of infections since the integrity of the skin is compromised. The adverse effects to this may be chronic infections, paralysis or death.
In conclusion, cosmetic surgeries enhance people's self esteem and also fetch them huge sums of money when they enter into modelling. Nevertheless, the upset of family budget and the detrimental effects such as chronic infections, paralysis or death attached to it cannot be overlooked.
