You should write at least 150 words.

The given tables illustrate the numbers of exchange students from European universities in Australia and Australian students in Europe in 2007 and 2009. Overall, more students from Europe came to Australia to study than vice versa. It is also notable that in 2009, there were much more European exchange students in Australian universities than in 2007.
The majority of European exchange students in Australia came from France, with 61 people in 2007 and 60 in 2009. 62 students from Germany also studied in Australia in 2009, while only 26 Australians studied in Germany that year. France was also popular among Australians because 37 students in 2007 and 58 in 2009 decided to study there. In 2009, there were 152 exchange students from Europe in Australia, while 226 Australians studied in Europe.
The situation in Australian universities considerably changed in 2009 in comparison to 2007. The number of incoming students grew from 189 to 226 because of Swedish and German students. At the same time, the number of incoming students in Australia stayed the same. However, the proportion of students changed.
Task 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
The advantages of the spread of English as a global language will continue to outweigh its disadvantages. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
You should write at least 250 words.
The benefits of English remaining an international language will be more important than its drawbacks. This essay completely agrees with this statement. Firstly, businessmen and scientists all over the world can communicate without language borders using the English language. Secondly, there is no need for immigrants or tourists to learn other languages except for English.
The first advantage of English being a global language is its usefulness in the business and academic worlds. In the past, businessmen, politicians, or scientists had to hire an interpreter for their meetings and put effort into translating important documents. Now, there is no need for it since everything is done in English. In the future, even more people are going to speak English. Moreover, more materials and scientific sources will be available in this language, which makes the spread of English especially beneficial for political, economic, and scientific development. Therefore, this advantage definitely overweighs the small disadvantages that English as an international language can have.
Another benefit of this tendency is the fact that immigrants, refugees or tourists can only speak English, and this can be enough to feel well understood in a foreign country. Therefore, the process of immigration is less stressful, and tourism is more enjoyable. For instance, before moving to Austria, I had to master my German so I could live there. Today, it is not necessary, as almost everything is available in English. Besides, everyone understands that people need time to learn German and do not mind switching to English for a moment. This argument also has more importance than the cons of the earlier-mentioned phenomenon.
To conclude, the globalization of English has more important advantages than disadvantages because the benefits have enormous importance for politicians, scientists, tourists, refugees, and other people.
