In 2007, however, the number of visitors to the European lakes is reduced by approximately 25000. Nevertheless, it is still larger than its initial state.

The number of foreign people visiting the European mountains was second highest, having 20000 people at the beginning. It steadily growed until 1997, but remained still until 2002. It showed a little amount of growth in 2007, having 35000 visitors.

Some countries achieve international sports by building specialised facilities to train top athletes, instead of providing sports facilities that everyone can use. Do you think this is positive or negative development?

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

You should write at least 250 words.

When the Olympic season is nearby, it is undeniable that people are being more competitive and energetically rooting for their national representatives. In fact, such an atmosphere is getting intense that people are claiming the need of building specialized facilities to train top athletes, rather than providing public sports facilities. Choosing specialized facilities for top athletes, indeed, have a noticeable benefit. Regardless, there are also disadvantages of giving up sports facilities for everyone.

The obvious benefit of investing in building specialized facilities for professional athletes is simple. It increases the chance of athlete players to earn medals. In fact, that was the main reason why Korea invested a significant amount of money to rebuild the training centers for archery in 2017. Thanks to such effort, in 2020, Korea was able to earn gold medals, proving that the Korean government's decision to build extra facilities was not wrong. It showed how a sufficient amount of support can lead to a successful outcome. Hence, with more support, the chances of achieving higher goals may increase to a further extent.

Yet, replacing public sports facilities with a specialized training centers for professional athletes seems to be an unfair decision. To many people, public sports facilities are the place where they can easily access whenever they want to work out. If a such place is replaced with a training center, which is only allowed for sports athletes, it seems unfair to people who have been using the public sports center. In addition, it is undeniable that the budget required to build specialized training centers is much higher than that of public sports centers, as it needs sophisticated and expensive equipment for training. In fact, in order to replace public sports facilities with specialized sports facilities, the cost of removing old facilities is also included, causing more use of budget. With such a significant amount of budget, the government can do something more meaningful, such as supporting those in need.

Thus, it can be concluded that building specialized facilities for top athletes is necessary. Nevertheless, the process of entirely replacing public facilities with facilities targeting only top athletes may be unfair and costly.
