The bar chart provided illustrates the amount of men and women attending different evening courses at an adult education centre in 2009 while the pie chart provides the ages of the participants attending these courses.
Overall, it is analyzed that the course with the highest total number of participants is the language course, and the following one is the painting course. While the pie chart intelligible shows that the highest percentage of the age group of the course participants is 50 or above, and then the lower age, the lower the percentage.
Firstly, language course, the course with the highest total number of participants, possesses 40 women and 20 men, which are 60 peoplein total. The second is the painting course, which possesses 30 women and 25 men that is totally 55 participants.
Additionally, the pie chart demonstrates that 42% of the course participants are 50 years old or above, which is the age group with the highest percentage. Then, the lower the age of the group, the lower the percentage. There are 26%, 16%, 11% and 5% of the age groups of 40-49, 30-39, 20-29, and under 20 respectively.

The issue of gay marriage remains controversial. Some people think that this trend has adverse effects on the society while others believe that it is seen as a natural trend and right for people to choose this type of marriage. Should gay marriage be legal?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Gay marriage is currently a hot topic, which different stakeholders possess various attitudes. In Chinese traditional moral sense, having a baby, especially a boy, is extremely important and those old school group of people oppose to the legalize gay marriage as people having same sex marriage are not able to have a biological baby.
However, it is believed that gay marriage should be legal due to several edges. Firstly, the reason is that homosexuality is a natural behavior since humans were born. They cannot change their sexual preference while it is their freedom to decide who they love no matter their gender.
In addition, this legal acknowledgment can largely prevent the sad stories that always happened in the past due to the discrimination on homosexuality, which married a person with different gender without love and keeps making love with other while their wife or husband does not know the truth. Once they realized it, they will be heartbreaking and usually may not be able to accept the truth. So, in this point of view, legalizing gay marriage can also be the prevention of hurting those innocent people.
Moreover, one of the possible advantages is that more abandoned children may be adopted. In the past, nearly all of the people had a traditional marriage and they were able to have and prefer having a biological baby rather than an adopted baby who are usually with some problems. However, as people who have the same gender cannot have a baby with each other, the only way for them is to adopt one. This may help many homeless and abandoned children to have a warm home.
To conclude, based on those advantages mentioned above, it is believed that gay marriage should be legal.
