I do not know what kind of expression i should make other than laugh when somebody come to me and compare mobile phone usage to smoking. If the debate rages over the ban of mobile usage in certain place and treated the usage of phone like smoking, i will firmly take my place against the ban.

People use phone for a plethora of usage not limited to social networking, emailing, information searching, taking photos etc. But the main reason phone was invented is to communicate with others via radio requency. And this is still the main reason people use phone. Mobile phone is considered a personal belonging and nobody should have control of a person about what to use and not use in a democratic country. I understand that some feature of phone is anoying to some people but I object the notion of thinking phose usage as antisocial as smoking. Furthermore, banning phone usage in some place goes against fundamental laws of freedom. What happens if someone have to take a emergency call from someone and he is in an area where phone usage is prohibated. Many will argue that loud ringtone of phone is bad or taking picture with a phone is just wrong. I will say to them that those matter depends on the user and many modern phone has features that is public friendly. As example someone can put his or her phone into vibration mode during prayer so that even an incoming call does not disturb other. That being said, I think that making comparison between phone and smoking is taking things a bit too far.

Finally I also want to finish my writing by saying that there are some place where phone usage is not allowed due to related reason like exam hall and totally unrelated to this debate.
