It is often argued that extensive use of mobile phone makes a person anti-social and it is considered as bad as smoking. Although smoking is banned in certain places likes family restaurants, malls, temples and others but I strongly disagree that mobile phones should also be banned.

These days mobile phones is not used merely for calling or chatting but is an absolute neccesity in terms of work, leisure activities, security and many more. Thanks to the advanced technology, the recent mobile phones are equipped with so many useful features like gps tracking system, google maps, social media apps and so on. For instance if I am lost or in distress my family and friends can recieve the notification of my whereabouts from gps tracking system allowing them to reachout and rescue me in time.

Additionally, the social media apps has brought world closer than ever. Applications like Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram allows us to stay in touch with our loved ones staying away in different cities or countries. We can chat and call even upload pictures and describe or share few experiences to let the people around who socially active and interested have a peep in our lives.

Since overuse of anything can be harmful to oneself hence extensive use of gadgets like mobile phones can be harmful to health as well as one's milieu. People get engrossed in browsing and socializing through phone so much so that at times they even forget that they should spend some quality time with friends and family. As a result,

they end up becoming antisocial and get detached from everyone thereby becoming an introvert and lonely over the time which might take a massive toll on the mental health of a person.

In conclusion, as mentioned earlier I would disagree with banning of mobile phones like smoking in certain places as the chances of person being antisocial are comparitively less unless phones are being overused.
