The graph below shows the number of university graduates in Canada from 1992 to 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Writing task 1

From 1992 to 2007 the students who have completed their graduation from a Canadian university is depicted in the graph.

The students are divided according to their gender, pink colour represents female whereas, blue represents males. It could be seen majorly, that there is a gradual increase in the number of graduates as the years passed.

From year 1992 to 1994 there is a constant rise however, from 1996 to 2002 the number of graduates decreased, which later from 2002 to 2006 again increased prominantly.

The steep pink slope shows that the count of female graduates are more as compared to the male ones, it went up from 100,000 in 1992 to approximately 150,000 in the year 2007. On the other hand, the number of male graduates started from 70,000 in 1992 to just 95,000 in 2007 which is not even merely half the number of female graduates.

To sum up the number of both male and females graduates have exponentially raised since 1992.

Write about the following topic.

Some organisations believe that their employees should dress smartly. Others value quality of work above appearance.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Writing task 2

An employee is judged on the basis of various factors, it could be by their apperarance or by the quality of their work. Both does matters in some or the other ways.

For some organisation dressing up aesthetically does matter as these organisations have a show bussiness in which they are offering some services which only the high end of the society could afford or are interested in, such as the creative fields ,it can be interior design, architecture, fashion industry,or even the film industry.

In such bussinesses in order to assure the clients of what they are representing it is neccesary for them to look presentable as well as their employees because the first impression always matters. The first meeting gives confidence to the clients about their work if they themselves are presentable.

Also in other industries such as the coorporate sector it becomes accential for the employees to dress well because of their work culture. In these industies employees have so many face to face meetings everyday with their seniors or with their clients that they cannot look lousy any day.

Some other sectors such as in the government or in defence dressing smartly represents decipline.

However, it is the quality of work ultimately which counts, since even if they gain the plus points of the appearance and are not able to deliver what was expected they lose the project. It is the work ethics of a employee which can finally help him or her achieve the next higher stages or the promotions in some cases.

Both the aspects of the employee their work ethics or their appearance are equally important, it just depends in which industry the employee is from as different factors are important for different industry.
