The above diagrams represent houses build in areas prone to flooding and the measures taken to protect them. The two major type of areas where houses are build are one where a stop bank is present and one where there is not. Differentiating the two, one where there is a stop bank present has flood gates and an internal ponding technique present where the water accumulates but does not last long, thus giving the advantage to these house having the stilt built below them to be not very long. Whereas the houses lying om areas without the stop banks should have longer stilts being placed under them that is along the ground level also having and maintaining a gap of almost 300mm with the house and the 100 year flood level of that place. Since these areas do not have good drainage the water could accumulate to a higher extent. Moreover giving the idea to create and build these houses higher than the ones with a stop bank.
Task 2

Write about the following topic.
Cohabitation is believed to bring huge advantages for young people since it enables them to fully understand each other before deciding to get married.
Do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
You should write at least 250 words.

Cohabitation as the name suggests means two people living together. This word in itself relies on the fact that when two people live together, they get to know each other, understand each other not only in the terms of a relarionship but also in all the aspects of life. They have a well balanced understanding of each other both physically and mentally. The pair has a mutual bond over each other's work schedule, eating habits, personality etc,. Basically getting to know the person in and out. This thus brings in a huge advantage to the young generation of couple's as they understand each other before entering a phase of life that makes it permanent also known as marriage. Calling cohabitation as an advantage would be socially acceptable as it has a chance of increasing bonding among couples as they get along also decreasing the chances of future divorces as they can resolve their issues much easily having had it done before in terms of living with one another. This capability to understand each other's low and supporting them is what matters and makes a relation strong nonetheless making it last longer.
To support this theory of statements, I would like to give one of the mosr common examples being our parents and relatives. The fact that they have lived together for so many years making them a couple strong and hard as a rock is the fact they have got to known and understand each other. They support each other in their toughest times understanding their reasons and preferences. This co-relates to the fact that if a young couple lived together the same way would not only increase the longevity but also the stability in the bond they'll building for life.
To conclude, I would thereby agree ro the fact that it is better for a couple to live together before settling so that it does not affect their future lives and if they do settle, they settle for good. That is living a happy married life forever and together till the end.
