Writing task 1

The graph illustrates the number of university graduates in Canada from the year 1992 to 2007.

Firstly, the graph clearly shows that the number of female graduates is higher than male graduates throughout the span of 15 years. Secondly, after 2001 there is a rise in the number of graduates.

In the year 1992, least number of people graduated from the university in Canada, out of which 70,000 were male and almost 100,000 were females. Since, more than 140,000 females and approximately 95,000 males graduated in Canada, we can say the year 2007 was the year of education as it sees the highest number of graduates.

From 1992 to 1995 there was a slight rise in the number of graduates of both gender, but it reduced and remainde constant till 2000. During this period the number of male graduates remainde between 70,000-80,000 whereas the number of females was between 100.00-110,000.

Writing task 2

'Never judge a book by its cover' this is something everyone should remember. Determining someone's capability only through his/her appearance is unacceptable. A person has a right to wear, what he/she wants.

Some organisations believe that their employee should dress smartly. Some organisation even has a uniform or dress code for their employees. The police have a uniform which they ought to wear on duty, even McDonalds and KFC or any other restaurant has a uniform for their staff. A lawyer is not allowed to enter the court if they are not in wearing a black cloak. It is very important of these establishments to maintain an image in the public. If they appear sloppy they might be considered unprofessional. While some look at the appearance of the employee some value their quality of work. Google, a multi-billion company, has no formal dress code whatsoever.

In my opinion, the quality of work is much more important than appearance. A friend of mine was doing his internship at a company where there was no strict dress code but still people judged him on his shabby clothes and messy hair when he joined. Other employees frowned on his appearance and tried to avoid him, so he spent most of his time in his cubical working alone. When people saw his work and the skills he had, the frowns vanished.

I strongly believe that everyone should get pass the physical appearance and see what a person has to offer.
