Writing Task 1

The graph illustrates the number of overseas visitors in thousands, which visited three different areas in a european country from 1987 to 2007. At first glance, it can be seen that in 2007 the number of visitors to either of these areas have increased compared to 1987.

The coast has claimed most of the visitors to itself until 2002 which the lakes took the lead, despite that, it reclaimed the most number of visitors in 2007 and achieved around 75 thousand visitors.

The number of visitors who visited the lakes had the least amongst the three with 10 thousand in 1987. But this number increased until it supressed the mountains visitors in 1992 with approximately 25 thousand visitors, and continued its increase until 2002 to about 75 thousand visitors and overtook the coast, but this number decreased to approximately 50 thousand in 2007.

Visits to the mountains has increased slowly in the period of 20 years from 20 thousand in 1987 to approximately 35 thousand in 2007. Despite that, it holds the lowest number of visitors in 2007.

Some countries achieve international sports by building specialised facilities to train top athletes, instead of providing sports facilities that everyone can use. Do you think this is positive or negative development?

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

You should write at least 250 words.

Nowadays international sports is one of the most popular and controversial topics amongst people and one can hear about it almost anywherem and the athletes whom participate in these sports are often popular and known to many people. These athletes usually train in specialized facilities which some countries have developed for them. This raises an argument among people. some believe that these facilities should be open to everyone, while others believe that professional athletes require their own training facilities.

On the one hand, some people claim that govenments should not spend budget only for a certain group of people and the facilities should publicly be available. This group claims that human rights requires govenments to provide everyone with the same facilities and no one can be excluded.

On the other hand, some believe that professional athletes should have the opportunity to train in specialized facilities. These people claim that beacause they are representing their country in the international sports, they should be provided with specialized facilities to train and hone their skills.

In conclusion, international sports hosts professinal athletes fromn different countries, whom some trained in specializad facilities. Some argue that these facilities should be publicly available and some believe that these athletes should be provided with these facilities. In my opinion, These facilities are necessary for athletes, for they represent a whole country with their skills. Thus they should be provided with specialized and professional training to be able to achieve high rankings and make people of their country proud of themselves.
