Some educationalists say that every child should be taught how to play a musical instrument. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

Music is widely taught in schools as an extracurricular activity rather than an essential subject. Some educators argue that all children must gain the knowledge on how to play a musical instrument. I agree with this statement as I think music plays an important role in children’s intelligence and performance, and it creates a window of future opportunities.

Firstly, it is well noted that people who are in touch with their creative sides tend to be more capable and smart while doing other activities that requires an amount of focus. In that sense, music helps children from a young age to be able to use their senses in a unique manner. Moreover, some children start to learn how to play simple musical notes by mimicking their parents playing music, sometimes before they say their first words. Others argue that children who have a musical ear, most of the time perform better at school.

Secondly, besides having a regular day job music can create other future job opportunities. It is a good thing to have a hobby or an enjoyable thing to do that you can turn into a career. In fact, many musician have regular jobs but they are more famous for their music. It is also said that if you enjoy your job you’ll never have to work another day, and what is more enjoyable than playing music.

In conclusion, I agree that music should be taught to all children from a young age due to its role in improving their performance and securing their future.
