Some countries achieve international sports by building specialised facilities to train top athletes, instead of providing sports facilities that everyone can use. Do you think this is positive or negative development?

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

You should write at least 250 words.

Winning internationa sports competitions has been saught by many countries. Instead of building sports centures for people, some countries construct advanced sports facilities to train the best players to get international sports achievements. In this essay I will disucss why this development is negative.

There is one reason for people who argue that this development is positive. It helps countries to win international competitions. Despite the high cost of having and training them, top athletes facilitate winning leagues for countries because they are more expert. For instance, some countries provide resediency ,along with a high salary and a high-quality training, to top international football players so that they play for them in football world cup, which may improve these countries' reuptations. Overall, trainning top players with specialised facilities makes countries respectable.

On the other hand, I think this development is negative because of two main reasons. Firstly, fewer people will play sports. When building sports facilities for the public is ignored, people will be encouraged to stay physically inactive. For example, a country that does not have sports clubs might have a growing number of obesity because most of its people are often not active. Simliarly, countries will get fewer national athletes. If money was spent on strngthening international players, national player would give up sports because of low level of prospect. Indeed, many countries nowadays have a few number of national players because they have been focusing on seeking top athletes instead of trainning the ones they have. This might result in huge amounts of money spent on international players who could go to another country at any time.

In conclusion, I think seeking international sports achivements by trainning top athletes is negative because of the downsides that might affect the society and the high these athletes.
