This line graph illustrates the trend of foreign tourist visits to various regions within a European country from 1987 to 2007. The number of tourists visiting the mountains and the coast exhibited a gradual increase over time. However, the visits to the lakes reached a peak before the coast but eventually declined.
In 1987, approximately 40 thousand tourists visited the coast, which was double the number of visits to the mountains. The mountains portrayed the slowest growth rate with almost 35 thousand visits. Although the number of tourists visiting the coast dipped slightly for the initial five years, it spiked to approximately 75 thousand visits in 2007. The number of tourists visiting the lakes increased steadily, reaching almost 75 thousand by 2002, but then drastically decreased to 50 thousand visits by 2007.
In summary, the coast emerged as the most popular destination for foreign travellers, while the mountains remained the least preferred location in the European country by the end of the period.

Some countries achieve international sports by building specialised facilities to train top athletes, instead of providing sports facilities that everyone can use. Do you think this is positive or negative development?
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
You should write at least 250 words.
Competitive sports of all forms worldwide are known to be a clear example of "survival of the fittest". This involves some of the best athletes coming from different parts of the world to compete amongst each other while portraying absolute sportsmanship. To be a part of international sports means one has to have a potential worthy of being the best in their originating countries. Such athletes have to go through numerous tournaments and heavy training regimes to be more progressive in their respective sports. Their journey from being better to the best is developed at specialised sports facilities.
I believe these facilities specialising in specific sports at an international level are made only for the chosen sportspeople. In most countries, such facilities are accessible to the ones who not only are at the top of their game but also are well-recognised by the organizing committees of the sport in their respective country. Cricket, for instance, is considered more than just a sport in India for many children and young adults. There are various stages to achieving a position that gets you to play for the country. One may start as a young adult enrolled in local training academies at an under-19 (U-19) level that gets them to play amongst others in their district or state. After giving their blood, sweat and tears to the sport, they may reach a point where they could join the national associations that once harnessed the nation's greatest talents, which is considered as a gateway to play internationally as well. The journey to reach this level is terrifyingly difficult and is not meant for the common-minded.
However, this may seem unfair to the ones who don't have access to training at such elite training facilities. This could be the case for a multitude of reasons, such as a lack of financial stability to be able to afford the livelihood of an aspiring sportsperson or simply reaching a physical limit at a certain age that isn't adequate to compete at an international level.
Overall, I believe, a chance is something that everyone deserves, even if they're not meant to be the greatest at an international sport, sporting facilities should be accessible to almost everyone who has the genuine desire to be better at it.
