Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.

The graph illustrates the number of tourists who visited the coast, the mountains, and the lakes in a European country between years 1987 and 2007. It is evident that the popularity of all three places increased in the time frame.
To be precise, it can be observed that while the lakes were the least preferred place to visit in 1987 with only 10 thousand visits, this number rose sharply to overtake both the coast and the mountains, and reach a peak with around 75 thousand visits in 2002. However, this trend declined drastically the following years with 50 thousand visits in the year 2007.
On the other hand, the mountains and the coast followed a similar pattern with an overall gradual increase in number of overseas visitors. Although, the coast started out with a steady decline, going from 40 thousand in 1987 to 35 thousad in 1992, it eventually turned around and went on to reach a peak of stagerring 75 thousand visits in the year 2007. In contrast, the mountains had a steady increase in visitors throughout the years which went from 20 thousand to approximately 35 thousand by 2007.
To summarise, while all the three places had an overall increase in the time period, the coast started out with the highest number of visitors in 1987 and managed to remain the highest in 2007 as well.

Some countries achieve international sports by building specialised facilities to train top athletes, instead of providing sports facilities that everyone can use. Do you think this is positive or negative development?
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
You should write at least 250 words.
Many countries incline towards constructing specialised sports facilities to train professional athletes, rather than making them accessible for everyone. Although there are advantages in doing so, I think the disadvantages far outweigh them.
One of the most compelling arguments in favor of this statement, is that with specialised training centres, professional athletes will have a better competitive edge over other athletes. Apart from this, these centres will also help top athletes train more efficiently, and target and improve their specific shortcomings. This will help the country perform better in international championships and competitions, Olympics, for example, and help them stand out.
However, focusing only on specialised sports centres makes them inaccessible to the general populus. Not everyone can afford expensive equipments and coaching, and because of this, a lot of young talent might be lost. Countless potential athletes amongst this excluded population might never get the chance to discover their talent and will miss out on a great opportunity in their life. Apart from this, this will also cause less athletes to emerge over the following years; as not having an ease of access to sports facilities might cause them to move on to other things and give up on their dream to pursue sports as a career.
To summarize, it is evident that there are some really great advantages in making specialised sporting centres, which include having a better performance in international competitions, and raising the country's popularity and rank. But this decision also causes many people to miss out on opportunities. The immediate results of this decision do seem attractive, but the ramifications it might have over the years can be dire.
