Some countries achieve international sports by building specialised facilities to train top athletes, instead of providing sports facilities that everyone can use. Do you think this is positive or negative development?

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

You should write at least 250 words.

International sports is an event which interests many people worldwide, whether they tune in from their TV or come to the stadium to watch a game, it is safe to say that international sports has increasingly become popular as time passes by.

The issue that this brings to the table is the ethicality of building specialised facilities to train top atheletes. To really tackle this issue, we first have to view the problem from two perspectives: the general perspective and the patriotal perspective. As we can wonder many countries differ in terms of economy and resources and it is quite obvious that a country with rich economy has the liberty to prioritise building sports facilities to train athletes to compete, while on the other hand, a country with a lesser resources and money would likely prioritise on developing their country. This general idea has many thinking about how unjust the international games can be depending on the country and its resources/economy. Thus, the logical solution for equal opportunity on the fields is to let everyone compete without any assistance of special training, which wouldn't eliminate the issue completely but it will to an extent mitigate it.

The second perspective which we will discuss is the patriotic perspective. Many individuals are proud to be a part of a country due to factors such as history, culture, economy, and much more, the international sports such as the olympicis is viewed as a chance for partiots to express their love for their country by supporting it and ofcourse they want their country to steal the number one spot. Unfortunately, there is only one number one spot and not all the countries can win, therefore it is only logical to prepare top athletes to steal all the glory and the take that sweet number one spot right? The pariots always want their country to win and they are willing to do anything to make it a reality and not everyone can disagree because it seems like a supportive thing to do for your country.

In the end it all comes down to the question, whether specialised training facilities are ethical for international sports. They are ethical to an extent, both perspectives have presented their perspective and argument quite well, and it's tough to decide between the two, but if you really think about it, it makes sense for people to be competitive and build special training facilities but equality plays a part too. It really comes down to the prominence of equal play and opportunity and things would be a lot different if that were to happen, many top players wouldn't have that huge of a difference than the other player, they could just be better by an inch which could be achieved by genetical advantages, which really is more unfair than special training facilites if I were to say so.
