Writing Task 1

The charts below give information about percentages and time spent by males and females on housework. Both males and females spend the most time in cooking and the least in house repairs, either by percentage or time count.

Overall, females spend more time cooking, and cleaning, while males spend more time caring for pets and house repairs. Cooking is crowned as the activity that needs the most time to spend, with almost 60 minutes for males and 85 minutes for females, with almost 60% of males doing this housework and 80% of females. The second activity that needs a lot of time to be done is cleaning, with 45 and almost 70 minutes respectively in males and females. Around 40% of males and almost 70% of females do this housework. The total amount of time both females and males need to take care of pets is almost the same, around 20 minutes. However, more males do this than females in total percentage, with around 22% and 20% of males and females respectively. The last activity is house repairs, and males spend much more on this activity than females, with almost triple in time and double in percentage. Males spend around 20 minutes on house repairs, with 20% of the total male population, while females only spend around 5 minutes with less than 10% of the total female population.

Some people think that governments should ban dangerous sports, while others think people should have freedom to do any sports or activity. Discuss both views and give your own opinion

You should write at least 250 words.

Recently, some people suggest that government should not allow dangerous sports to be done. Is this suggestion good for other people's safety? Other people said the opposite that everyone allows doing any kind of sport freely. In my opinion, I do not agree that dangerous sports must be banned.

First of all, each individual has the same right to do any activity freely, even though it has a higher risk than other activities or sports. Some sports such as skydiving or mountain bike racing probably are more dangerous than just jogging or playing badminton. But, it does not mean that there are no positive sides to these activities. For example, you can find a better and more beautiful view of the whole city during skydiving, and fresh, breezy air while enjoying birds singing while riding a bike on a mountain.

Secondly, dangerous sports can pump up our adrenaline which for some people, also releases serotonin, a hormone that controls happiness, which is good for their psychological health. Some people maybe choose to challenge their own adrenaline as a solution to release their stress and personal pressure through doing extreme and dangerous sports. They can get both good physical and mental health from one activity.

In summary, I do not agree with people suggesting the government ban dangerous sports. Even though these extreme sports have higher risks, it is worth doing. Dangerous sports make people see the world from other unique perspectives and also help boost their adrenaline which can help people reduce their stress, and it is each person's decision to do it freely.
