Writing Task 1

People who were born in Australia vs Outside Australia in 1995 and 2010

People who were born in Australia and outside Australia chose to live in urban, rural, and towns. Their choice of living were varied between 1995 and 2010. In 1995, people who were born in Australia opted to live in the cities with about 50%. 30% of people born in Australia decided to live in rural areas, and only 20% of them live in the town. Similar to that, people born outside Australia show the similar trend. 60% of people choose to live in the cities, 40% of people lived in the rural areas, and only 10% of people lived in town.

Not much difference from 1995, in 2010 both people born in Australia and outside Australia still love to live in the cities. 60% of people who were born in Australia lived in the cities and 80% of people who were born outside of Australia lived in the cities. Followed by 15% of people who were born in Australia chose to live in towns and rural areas. Different from people born in Australia, people who were born outside Australia have very few percentages of living in towns and rural areas. Only 15% of them chose to live in towns and 10% of them choose to live in rural areas.

To conclude, we can see that in 1995 and 2010, both people born in Australia or born outside Australia loved to live in the cities. And their interest to live in the rural areas has shrunk down in 2010 with a very few percentage of people live in rural areas.

Task 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Rich countries often give money to poorer countries, but it does not solve poverty. Therefore, developed countries should give other types of help to the poor countries rather than financial aid. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

Does giving money to the poorer country solve the problem?

Many developed countries often give monetary funds to the poorer countries in a hope that it can solve their poverty problems. Yet, the problem is deeper than the fund. Thus, financial aid cannot be the sole solution.

First, we need to look at the root cause of a problem in the country. For example, Indonesia. Indonesia is a rich country but the poverty level is pretty high. This is not because Indonesia lacks the money to support the unprivileged, but because corruption is in their blood. To solve this issue, we do not need money but we need education and strong enforcement from the government to be firm with the corruptors.

Second, if we look at a country like Africa. We can see that African people have problems with food, sanitary, water, and so on. On the first layer, we can give financial aid for them to survive. However, we cannot let this thing be a habit. They need to be able to be independent in tackling this issue. They need not only money but education on how to build good sanitary, how to make jobs to build the economy, how to educate the people about the importance of education, and so on.

With this in mind, I hope that the developed countries do not only see the poor countries as a form of charity but as a partner to build the world together into a better place. I hope they will stop sending money, but start sending people to exchange knowledge and give the education to build their own economy.
