Task 1
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
The diagrams below show the existing ground floor plan of a house and a proposed plan for some building work.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.

In this illustration, the current ground floor map of a residence is presented and compared with a new recommended map for renovation. Overall, the recommended plan has a more spacious living room. However, the hall in the present map has been eliminated in the newly proposed one.
When the two maps are compared, it can be evidently seen that both the front and the back entrances maintain their positions along with the kitchen and the living room. One internal wall is retained. The current map does not have space for kitchen furniture.
In the recommended map, one of the internal walls is removed to merge the hall and the living room into one big area. The stairs are recommended to be reconstructed towards the extreme back of the residence from where both the doors are pulled towards the front entrance. One downside of the new plan is the lack of storage area which is quite essential for any residence.

You should write at least 250 words.

Nowadays, parents are inclined towards newer and more innovative teaching methodologies for their kids. An alternative technique of learning – homeschooling – has been gaining popularity among young parents in the past few years. However, I am of the belief that attending a conventional school is imperative for a child’s cognitive and social advancement.
Conventional schooling technique has been the standard of learning for decades now. Firstly, it provides the students with a progressive environment of interactive learning using a wide variety of teaching modalities. Furthermore, it allows toddlers to indulge in co-curricular and cultural activities which boosts their confidence and heightens their interpersonal and social skills. For instance, it is seen that children who actively participate in school competitions have higher problem-solving skills. Secondly, many practical life skills can only be effectively taught in an educational setup. In particular, science lab experiments can be learned only when the apparatus and expert facilitators are readily available.
Contrary to conventional institution-based learning, homeschooling is being, quite frequently, adopted by many new parents. Undoubtedly, the home serves as the foremost educational base for infants and toddlers. Firstly, homeschooling secludes the child from the hustle of waking up early for school, transportation needs, and following a strict standard of learning. Additionally, this teaching modality is particularly helpful for kids who struggle with a learning need. For example, a toddler may be doing well in Science and may require focused attention in Math. A homeschooled environment will provide such a child to learn Math slowly and gradually at his own pace.
In conclusion, home is the base camp to incorporate values and principles in a child’s education. However, in my firm opinion, institutionalized education allows an individual to perform among his peers which is pertinent to excel in society later on.
