The first pie chart displays the percentage of housing owned and rented by the people in the UK in 2007 and second chart shows the same but in 1991. From these two charts, we can see there has been an increase in number of the houses in UK from 22 million homes in 1991 to 27 million homes in 2007.
The pie chart consists of 4 category types: home owner, social renting, private renting and social housing. As shown on the chart, home ownership covers more than 50% of the chart for both 1991 and 2007 and social housing covered the least. amount of the chart for both years as well. There has been an increase of home ownership from 1991 to 2007 which we can tell that the economic status of people in the UK has gotten better than before.
Overall, more people started owning houses than living in a social renting and social housing which as mentioned above their economic status have improved.
Task 2

In some countries people spend long hours at work. Why does this happen? Is it positive or negative development
You should write at least 250 words.
It is true that in some countries such as South Korea, India and China spend long hours at work due to several reasons such as to develop their economy, maximising the individuals wealth, etc. From my personal opinion, there are both positive and negative developments in this topic. However, there are more negatives than the positives. Almost everywhere in the world, people work for long hours in order to achieve what they want and/or to survive. One of the famous billionaire, Elon Musk had spent most of his time working on his company. He has even mentioned that one time he only had an hour of sleep and we could see that his hard work has made him a successful man making him one of the richest man in the World. People in the developing countries tend to work way more than the people in the developed countries as their economic status is not as flexible as them. They'll need to work harder in order to dominate the market and outcompete their competitors.
However, it is sad to see that the world has become very competitive and that it is very difficult for one to get a job. People work very hard so that they won't get fired from their job because they know that it is difficult to get another job. They are thankful to have a job no matter what kind it is because they know a lot of people are unemployed. People are born to work. I think that we should be spending more time for ourselves or even with our loved ones. The fact that these things became uncommon nowadays because everyone is busy with their work is very depressing. People in the developed countries such as Norway and Denmark are more happy and enjoying their lives compared to the developing countries where they would have to work all day just to benefit their happiness which wouldn't even last long.
So overall, I suggest that people should not spend their time working sitting on the office in front of their laptops for the majority of their lives because working is not everything. We should definitely spend more time with our families and friends instead before it gets too late.
