The pie charts below show the percentage of housing owned and rented in the UK in 1991 and 2007.
Summarize the information by describing the main features of the charts and making comparisons where appropriate.
You should write at least 150 words.

The displayed graphs exhibit the percentage of homes owned and rented in the UK in the years 1991 and 2007.In the 1991 graph, we can observe that out of a total of 22 million houses, just over 50% were occupied by the homeowner. We can also notice that around a quarter of homes were occupied by social renters and that less than a quarter of homes in the UK were either social housing or private rented homes. On the other side, if we observe the 2007 graph, first of all, we can notice that the total amount of homes has increased from 22 million in 1991 to 27 million in 2007. Additionally, we can observe that the number of homeowners has incremented through the years, occupying almost 75% of UK homes. Furthermore, the percentage of social renting appears to have decreased almost by half from 1991 to 2007, whilst the number of homes occupied by private renting has remained very similar and the number of social housing has reduced significantly.

In some countries people spend long hours at work. Why does this happen? Is it positive or negative development
You should write at least 250 words.
According to my experience, the reasons why in some countries people spend long hours at work are mostly related to governmental regulations and work culture. On one hand, governmental regulations and the monitoring of its compliance is a really important factor, since the law is the first parameter that governs a society. Across the countries around the world we can observe that some of them allow longer work journeys and have looser regulations and law implementation towards this.Secondly, the work culture in each country is also a defining factor in the extra hours people will spend at the office. Meaning that if, for instance, an entire society considers it to be mediocre to leave work when your workday ends, it is likely that peer pressure plays an important role in people staying longer hours at the office. In my point of view spending long hours at work can be really negative for the development of a balanced society, and also for its productivity. Several studies have already proven that workers dealing with less stress (induced partly by long working hours) are the ones that deliver better results and that enjoy better pyschologycal health. Additionally, as human beings, I consider it fundamental to have working schedules that allow us the time to also develop in different areas of our lives (e.g. spending time with our family, doing activities that we enjoy, learning new skills). In conclusion, I would say it is important that countries that currently have the highest rates of time spent at work, should be actively creating initiatives to change these numbers; as a happier and well-balanced population leads to a more human and productive society.
