The graph below shows the number of enquiries received by the Tourist Information Office in one city over a six-month period in 2011.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.

The graph demonstrates the volume of enquiries that were recieved by the Tourist Information Office of a single city over the course of six months, from January to June 2011.
The line graph summarizes data from 3 different categories, which are, enquiries via letter/email, via telephone and in-person. It is evident from the data that requests for information in-person witnessed a sharp increase over the six-month period, recording the highest volume from April to June. Despite a fall in numbers in the month of Feburary, requests via telephone were the highest upto the mid of March, following which, it came second to requests in-person.
Interestingly, requests via letter/email occupied the second place till the mid of February and then faced a sharp decline after March, thereby falling behind the other reuquest categories with June seeing the lowest numbers. Another fascinating trend, as shown in the graph, is how the enquiries via telephone and via letter/email moved in completely opposite directions from the April to June.
Task 2

Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference.

You should write at least 250 words.
Amongst the many challenges that are faced by the modern society, environmental issues stand out due to their urgency and the extent of their impact. With the rise of natural disasters, unprecedented changes in weather patterns, massive forest fires and the constant depletion of the ozone layer, there is an increase in demand for enviromentally-conscious behaviour from everyone who lives in this little blue planet.
It is often argued that the respnsobility to ensure the sustainence and the conservation of mother nature becomes a necessity for every individual who is a part of the society. Although the argument sounds fair in theory, in reality, this reasoning is muddled with various fallacies. Individuals can only implement environmentally-sound practices on personal levels, for example, reduction in the use of plastic and the usage of natural resources such as fuel, water etc. However a majority of an individual's practices can be only defined by policies as dictated by one's goverment.
For example, even if an individual decides to cut down on the uasge of plastic, he/she will not be able to follow thorugh unless there is a provision of viable alternatives such as subsidised paper bags or equally reliable jute bags. If one decides to switch to renewable energy sources such as Solar or Hyrdro Energy, this decision will only be possible based on the availbility of infrastructure for the aforementioned energy sources. Additionaly when we look at pollution, another important ingridient of environmental degradation, the majority of such pollution comes from industries and/or economic and developmental activites which can only be regulated by governmental policies.
Therefore it may be true that the decison to save our environment falls on every stakeholder, however it is the government who has the consolidated power to introduce massively influential changes for the good of our environment.
