Task 1

The diagram shows the design of a modern landfill for household waste. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.
The following diagram depicts the design of a advance landfill which can be used for household waste.
The landfill waste is constructed accordingly, firstly there is an man-made hole made in the ground and it is covered with some clay and synthetic substance. Following to which some drainage pipes are inserted along with a drainage tank attached to it.
When the household waste is dumped into this landfill the liquid from the waste will be drained or seperated from the waste through the drainage tank and into the clay keeping only the waste which is needs to be recycyled in the hole.
Finally, the landfill should be closed with the help of the clay. For this a layer of clay should be sextended on over the landfill .Then the gases generated from the waste will be released back into the nature with the help of the pipes inserted into the landfill.
