It is often argued that workers have to quit their job and have a retirement between the age of 60 and 65, while others claim that workers have their own choice to choose when are they going to retire and are free to work as long as they want. In my opinion, I agree that freedom should be given to them to make their own decisions.
First of all, workers have the right to choose the time they want to retire in order to feed themselves. Some of the workers neither have spouses nor children, thus they have to work in their old ages to get some income in order to pay for their living. Furthermore, some worker who does not work as professional does not have the chance to get the EPF, which is the monthly income after someone retired, thus forcing them to retire at the age of 60 is the same as losing their basic to live in society. So, in order to survive, they have no other choice instead of keep on working.
Secondly, those old workers have rich experiences that can help those newbies in their work. In my view, keeping that old experienced worker not only able to teach the new workers, they will also not feel like abandoned by the society. For example, the workers that retire would not have many opportunities to socialize with others, letting them work provide them a platform to socialize with others, and also help to ensure their mental health.
In conclusion, I agree with the statement saying that workers should be allowed to continue working for as long as they favor. This is because some workers need the income to maintain their living and won't make them feel like they have abandoned by the society.
