You should write at least 150 words.

Writing task 1

The given table illustrates the information on the amount of waste produced over two decades in six different countries.

Glancing at the data, the US seems to be the largest maker of refuse, whereas Portugal and Ireland appear to be the cleanest nations.

Apparently, there was a dramatic increase in US waste disposals, growing from 151 million tonnes to 192 million tonnes, during the latter ten-year period. Although, on the former, the rise in rubbish production was half of the latter.

On the other hand, the production of trash in Korea subsided from 1990 to 2000 by ten million tonnes.

However, in terms of wastage increments, Poland and Portugal shared approximately identical trends, increasing about 1 million tonnes of waste every ten years. The increase in wastage for the second decade was almost five times of the first for the instance of Japan. Lastly, the neatest country of 1980 was the one to end up producing about 8 times more wastes in the beginning of the new era.

Japan.

Task 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

You should write at least 250 words.

A great supply of information is viewed by many as a means of clarifying confusion and flourishing new ideas in scientific research, business and the academic world. Certainly, it considerably helps one to materialise one's thoughts into reality, when there is storage for the data. Conversely, some people are reluctant to disclose the information to the general public because of its value and importance.

Solving a mathematical problem is much easier when one can rely on a data vault because one can relate pieces of the puzzle by viewing them individually. Moreover, a person might not be capable to find a solution to an issue due to the lack of viable information, because, it is not possible for every person to know everything in the Universe. Furthermore, an individual can save time by quickly obtaining solutions to his or her question, for example, a potential invention stuck in the progress of testing due to inadequate information about its system's ideal conditions. Specialist knowledge about a particular job is always valued in the fields of science and business, which one can obtain from a collection of information. Additionally, when a machine malfunctions in times of crisis, written instructions and requisites of experts can even save lives. People might also benefit from acquiring skills and new ideas from others from abroad, for instance, by opening an entirely revolutionary business. Admittedly, misuse of information can be detrimental to personal, social and even national interests. Nowadays, it is difficult to identify the source of information. In many cases, one might fail to recognise whether false data were posted accidentally or deliberately.

However, I view publication as a blessing for those who seek information. But disclosure and security of the information should be simultaneously maintained at all times.
