It is often argued that studying English languagen in an English-speaking country is better but it is not the only way to learn English. As a non native speaker, I would agree to the notion and would further elaborate it in this essay.
It is better to learn English from native speakers but it is not possible for everyone to do so. Not everyone can afford to go to an English speaking country to learn the language and has access to all the related study material. Although through advancements in technology and internet all the required material is now available for the entire world almost free of cost. so there is no need for someone to travel overseas and spend hefty sum just to learn English which can now be studied from your own country much rather from home.
Additionally, since English is regarded as the most spoken language around the world, many countries like India, Sri Lanka, China and others have schools teaching English as a much important part of curriculum. It also made learning the language easier for non native learners since it was being instilled in them right from the beginning of the schooling .It helped them enhance their proficiency over the years for the betterment of their careers and life as it opened up more opportunities for them around the world.
Although, English was being taught all over to the non native learners through various sources available and was also widely accepted but the authenticity of language was lost in the process. The accent, pronounciation and the competence with which a native English speaker could talk was something lacking amongst the other. This can also be considered as a major drawback and something that cannot be learnt unless taught or been in frequent conversations with a native speaker. This might diminish the setback amongst the non native speaker and boost their confidence while talking without fumbling.
In conclusion, as mentioned before I would agree that albiet the various available resources for learning English but learning from the native country might still be considered best.
