In to some distance, I personally agree that studying the English language in an English-speaking country is the best, also it is not the only way to learn the language. As if you are in an environment that speak English only, I can be sure that you will pick up this language very fast, as you can only use this language to communicate. You need language for your daily routine life, you need it to order food, to report, to talk with your friend, and etc. Human is something that cannot be alone, we need care. However, there are always other way, your family member may speak English to you, even though you are not in an English-speaking country. Like this, you will still pick up English, as you start hearing that since you are young. Also, English compared to other languages, it is not a very difficult language. Some languages like Chinese cannot be "spelt" out base on it sound, Unlike English, which has only 26 shapes, Chinese has many more. Also, study English in an English-speaking country, you may study some local term "accidentally". For example, in Singapore, an English-speaking country, the locals often mix other languages such as Chinese, Malay, Tamil, Cantonese, when they speak. They will call it, Singlish. For example, when they are in the local coffee shop, not cafe, they will call coffee as Kopi. And these terms cannot be understood in other countries, even English-speaking countries. (This excludes nearby countries, such as Malaysia.) So, in conclusion, in some distance, I agreed that studying the English language in an English-speaking country is the best but not the only way to learn language.
