You should write at least 250 words.
It is often debated that team sports, such as football and basketball are more beneficial. While on the other hand, people prefer individual sports, such as swimming and running. I'd say, I agree with the latter statement, that individual sports are better than team sports.
Firstly, doing individual sports gives freedom and schedule flexibility. They are not bound to other people's schedule, you are free to choose your own time, either in late night or early morning. It's really up to you. Some might say that it's boring to working out alone, they need some kind of accountability and competitive partner who will help them to keep on track and stay motivated. However, this may not apply to introverts who deeply enjoy their personal time. They may account their exercise time as their break from the society and recharges their energy. Extroverts may enjoy individual sports as much as team sports and sometimes they can mix it up. For example, they can partake in running with a running community and some other time, they may run alone.
Moreover, individual sports provide privacy for people in their fitness journey. For example, overweight people tend to workout by themselves or with their personal trainer. They want to focus on themselves and not compare themselves with others. The same reason may also happen with people in their body-building journey. Both overweight and body builder beginners may feel shy or even uncomfortable if they exercise in groups. Thus, they prefer individual sports to avoid the crowd and the highly-anticipated judgements.
Finally, individual sports also presents some low-impact exercise options. Most of the time when people engage in high impacts sports as observed in team sports like basketball and soccer, they often suffer injury from broken bones to ACL. Even a minor injury can affect performance greatly, hence many athletes quit their career early because of this matter. Meanwhile, individual sports such as swimming is considered as low-impacts and does not involved any physical contact between swimmers hence it's low risk and safer. In fact, many physicians advice swimming as a recovery tool.
Taking everything into consideration, I would say individual sports are better and more beneficial compared to team sports. Individual sports provide schedule flexibility, privacy, as well as safety.
