The diagram below shows how ethanol fuel is produced from corn.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

You should write at least 150 words.

Writing Task 1

This diagram shows the process of corn transformed into ethanol fuel. As we can see in some of the processes, it takes a long time to produce ethanol fuel out of corn, by a estimation of 3 days. The process of its production is as follows:

Corns are firstly produced and recollected, then it is stored in the storage room until the time to start milling. After milling the corn, we add water into it and start to cook it for a period of 4 hours. Later, we start fermenting the corn, for another period of 48 hours. Then we separate the fermented corn into two products, solid corn and corn liquid. With the corn liquid, we purify it in an estimated time of 5 hours and finally we get the purified ethanol fuel. After the last step, it is stored in the storage room and transported to institutions or companies that needs this type of fuel.

The estimated time according to the diagram is a total of 57 hours, making the fermentation the longest process to produce ethanol fuel, compared to cooking and purifying the ethanol fuel.

Task 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Some people think that physical strength is important for success in sport, while other people think that mental strength is more important. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

You should write at least 250 words.

There has been a heating debate on whether physical or mental strength gives up more success in sport. And some of the facts we encounter when discussing on these two types of strengths may bring up controversies or even a disagreement with a certain group of people. But the sake of sportsmen and sportswomen in their success may depend on both strengths. So, which one is the most important?

To start with, physical strength, as the name recalls, is how we are physically prepared for sport events. This is not easy to change but as a feature that is not fixed, it can be prepared throughout careful planning and self-controlling, and amazing results will bring out after you control yourself on physical strength. However, it is sometimes inevitable to have injuries or accidents while doing sports, or even when training yourself. So, it is sometimes not recommendable to train your physical strength at an overestimated level of your capacity.

Second and last, mental strength is how we are mentally prepared to games and matches. As this is a fixed feature on the person, we may not be able to change someone just saying things like "keep calm and you can do this." These, although difficult to change, can be prepared by telling your feelings to the coach and asking him/her for advice on matches or anything.

To sum up, neither one is important than the other, so, I would choose both strengths as a factor of having a great success on sports because both strengths are equally important for the success on sport matches and if there is one missing, then he/she is not likely to have an achievement on games.
