Writing task 2

Comparison of homeschooling and going to school.

While many experienced and qualified professionals are homeschooling their kids, there is a concern whether these kids get the social exposure to develop their soft skills and gain knowledge not found in the books.

After having a detailed discussion with an investment banking professional and an entrepreneur who homeschools his 3 kids, I realized that homeschooling does not always have to adversely affect the kids' social lives.

The entrepreneur who has 3 kids and homeschools them on a daily basis. His kids have started self-learning coding and other valuable life skills through YouTube and are even competing for competitve exams at a very young age. He claims that his children have a vibrant social life with many friends their own age and are relatively good at communication than school going kids.

It seems that homeschooling, if done right can be the best thing for your child. But if not done the right way, it could damage the kid's education beyond repair.

But it raises the question on how going to school with a bunch of kids your own age, learning to fend for yourself for the day, making friends, being part of clubs and thriving in a competitve environment can be replaced by being homeschooled.

Are the parents who are homeschooling their kids denying them the opportunity to go out in the world on their own?

Are these parents taking a risk homeschooling when there are so mnay schools with experienced teachers who know what the kids want?

While homeschooling is still an option for educated professionals, those with limited education find the school the best choice for their kids.

I believe homeschooling is not the time for experiments and if it is a proven method, then go for homeschooling for your kids.

But nothing can ever replace leaving the home, having new teachers every grade, having 10s of clubs to choose from and having fun with friends.

This is because school is not just for education, it is an experience that can never be fully replaced by homeschooling.
