Writing task 2

People often say that "change is the only constant" and an individial can only grow in life through variability in it. Change brings a lot of variety in out life, pushes us out of our comfort zones and helps us achieve much more than what we possibly can. Unfortunately, some people think that changes in life bring instability along with it and they therefore find comfort in being good at one thing and mastering it instead of experiencing newer things.

Changing our choices and preferences periodically helps us to grow and look at life from different perspectives. Certain motivational speakers often claim that it very important to push yourself out of your comfort zone by accepting changes in your daily life. For instance, I understood the meaning of the above when I moved away from my home for the first time to pursue higher studies at the university. This change was instrumental in shaping various apects of my life such as my interpersonal skills, personality traits and my academic performance as well. Therefore, changes that take place in our life when we get a new job, move to a new place, befriend someone new or lose a loved one often inculcates new qualities within us that would not have been possible otherwise.

However, some people are afraid of changes in their lives because of various reasons. Psychologists are of the opinion that this fear of change is primarily associated with the mental aspect and personality of an individual. People think that changes will affect the stability and peace in their life. The best example to describe this is when a person is offered a new job in a different field with a higher pay grade but rejects it simply because of the fear of doing things that he/she is not experienced in. Similarly, some people do not have the drive or interest to learn something new and prefer doing the same set of things for their entire lives.

In summary, change is an important part of our lives and not welcoming changes can really hamper our personal growth. Therefore, it is imperative to inculcate the habbit of accepting change and adapting to existing circumstances from a very young age to make our lives easier in future.
