Writing task 1

The diagrams illustrate the blueprints of a ground floor at the current state and after a proposed renovation.

Overall, the main sectors will remain unchanged. Meanwhile, some components will be added or be changed their locations in the building.

The current blueprint has 3 distinguishing sectors including a kitchen, a living room and a hall in between. However, the lower half of the wall separating the hall from the living room will be removed. After the removal, the internal wall will be extended to the current kitchen door. The stairs next to this wall will be relocated adjacent to both the kitchen and the living room, which will face the main entrace door. The storage under stairs will be completely omitted.

There will be some changes in the kitchen after the renovation. First, the door to enter this room will be moved next to the main entrance door to leave empty space for the new stairs. In addtion, new u-shaped kitchen furniture will be installed along the wall on the left. On the other hand, the side entrance door to the kitchen will remain the same.

Writing task 2

Many people hold different views regarding which place would be the best for a child's development. Some state home-schooling provides a friendly, familiar environment which allows children to freely express their individual perspectives about this world. Meanwhile, other say that chidren would benefit from school's discipline. In this essay, both opinions will be discussed followed by my personal thoughts about the issue.

When it comes to the advantages of homeschooling, time-related flexibility might be one of the most prominent. Teaching at home means the children and their parents can decide when and where they should learn. Moreover, parents can choose which subjects they should teach their kids. Together with the aformentioned time-related flexiblity, this brings a huge opportunity for the children to understand how the world functions as the lesson they are about to learn will be factual yet pragmatic, and associates to real life events. As a result, it will facillitate children to apply newly learned knowledge into practice.

Meanwhile, the main advantage of studying at schools and educational facilities is that they simulate a small, age-appropriate society which is alike to the real social life for children. In this simulation, children learn how to interact to each other and to the teachers, as well as how to deal with distinguishing circumstances. Bad behaviours will be prevented under the guide of discipline made by educators, resulting in students preparing for adulthood with appropriate manners. Moreover, schools offers general knowledge which has been evaluated and approved from consensus, which equips children the fundamental for their career advancement.

In my opinion, the combination of both methods will benefit a child's development the best. To achieve this, the knowledge from school must be combined with pragmatic solutions to deal with daily problems from the parents. For instance, children can learn how to make a toy at school but how to fix it at home. To conclude, although each method has its own advantages, both are undoubtedly necessary for a child's wellbeing and do not outweight the other.
