Writing task 1

The following diagram shows the existing ground floor plan of a house and the proposed plan for some building. The overall structuring of the house stays the same in both the plans except for a few new renovations.

Starting with the main entrance, the existing plan that initially had a lobby area with walls and doors on both sides followed by the hall and the stairs with storage underneath it in the corner, is revamped to both the doors on the left wall and an L- shaped stairway without storage in the proposed plan. The right wall is knocked out for a more spacious living room in the proposed plan.

The living room in both the plans is more-or-less the same except for the changes made to the wall and removing the door leading to the hall. In place of that, an open access is given to the hall and the living room in the new plan.

The old entry to the kitchen through the hall is now modified by combining the two doors in the hall on one side, giving the kitchen a bigger entry. The kitchen is also redecorated by adding new kitchen furniture in the proposed plan. The second entrance in both the plans remains unchanged through the kitchen.

In brief, the proposed plan makes a few new additions and modifications to the existing plan and makes it more mordern and spacious.

Writing task 2

Education is one of the highest paying industries today. What once was a means of developing one's skill, now has turned into a pure business gimmick with rising competition everyday. One cannot help but wonder if sending kids to school really is important anymore or should they teach their children themselves at home? Well, a coin has two sides and so does this never-ending arguement of what is best for the kids now-a-days.

Teaching kids at home has it's own set of advantages. It helps the parents form a bond with their children and nurture their skills personally. Many kids do not share that attachment with their parents due to the lack of time and busy schedules of the children filled with homework and assignments. This gives the parents an opportunity to give special attention towards their child's studies and enable them to provide a customized learning plan for them.

Furthermore, parents know their child better and hence know their likes and dislikes. This helps them to give their children a proper boost in the required area of excellence. For instance, if a child is very active and interested in sports, proper training and expertise in that field from the start can give a major headstart to the kid.

In contrast to this, learning at school also has major benefits. The child is given a platform to interact and socialize with their peers which builds up confidence and helps it to expand it's circle. It allows the kid to grow by exchanging different ideologies and opinions. Schools act in the favor of the children by inculcating discipline in them from a very young age. The ability to follow set rules and respect timelines for work assigned is a lifeskill that is taught to everyone at school at the inital stage.

School learning enables holistic growth in a lively environment and holds no bias against any kid. Other ciricullar acitivities are also encouraged which challenge the kids at an interpersonal level and push them to face new challenges. Participation in various competitions create a healthy urge to compete and show kids how stand out in a crowd. In addition, schools enable kids not only to learn new languages and try out new sports with proper infrastructure but also help them to meet new people from different walks of life.

In conclusion, though learning at home might be convinient, it does not compare to the wholesome experience that a child attains when it goes to school.
