This is a graphical comparison of average expense of the people from United States on cell phone and residential phone services in the year 2001 and 2010.

Overall, the diagram shows the dramatic increase in cellular phone usage in comparison with residential phone service, which is declining over the years.

In the year 2001, residential phones were the main mode of communication amonf the consumers of United Stated, with the anual expenditure of nearly 700USD. consumers widely rely on the residential phone services rather than cellular phone due to its scarsity. The consumers spent 200 USD yearly over cell phone service.

In 2010, with the increasing popularity, there in a steep rise in the cell phone service expenditure exceeding 750 USD annually by the US consumers, which is more than the land phones expense back in 2001. However, the expenditure of residential phone service has dropped to 400 USD yearly in 2010, which is almost half of the price paid by the consumers back in 2001.
