Writing task 1

The bar chart shows the number of mobile phones 5 different companies sold globally in 2009, 2011 and 2013.

Samsung had the highest sales. Global mobile phone sales for Samsung increased exponentially from around 230 in 2009 to 450 in 2013. This was followed by Nokia. In contrast, sales for Nokia decreased from 440 in 2009 to 250 in 2013, with the biggest drop seen between 2011 and 2013.

Apple had the lowest global sales in 2009, which was around 20. However, this figure increased to 150 in 2013. For LG, its number of global sales maintained below 150 and decreased gradually, starting from 120 in 2009 to 80 in 2013. Finally, the number of global sales for ZTE was relatively stable at around 50 to 60, with minor increase seen over the years.

Overall, Samsung and Nokia had the highest sales while ZTE had the lowest sales. However, sales for Samsung increased while sales for Nokia decreased. This can potentially be explained by the introduction of smartphones around 2012.

Writing task 2

Life has many challenges, thus making safe choices are preferred and seemingly logical. However, leading a stable life has the potential of making an individual miss out on the exciting aspects of life. In this essay the importance of changes in life will be discussed.

Safety and stability are important when it comes to surviving in an incresingly competitive society. Critical life choices that have been made by others are tried and tested. Therefore, those choices often leads to predictable results. By avoiding change, one can lead a comfortable life with a strong sense of security. However, leading a stable life could make life far less intersting.

When changes happen in life, especially when life have become predictable, it has the potential to excite an individual, no matter if the changes are positive or negative. Those changes could pose as challenges that build up ones skill and character, leading to better opportunities.

Changes in life can also help create unforgettable memories and friendship that last a lifetime. The indivuduals one encounter during extreme changes in life are most probably those who stayed and offered support unconditianally. Those bonds have the potential to make history and events that affect others.

Furthermore, after ovecoming hardship, one tends to appreciate life and the people around them better, increasing their tolerance towards other individuals. This helps society by having people who are more civilized, kind and helpful to others, leading to decreased conflict.

In summary, it is safer to lead a stable and predictable life. However, avoiding changes could deprive an individual of the potential skills, memories, and character growth one could have developed.
