Writing task 1

The picture illustrates the steps involved in making sodas (water cleaning, heating evaporation and carbonation, mixing, filtering and filling, and packaging).

Overall, soda making involves 5 stages, from cleaning water to evaporation and carbonation, mixing, filling and packaging, and finally delivering. During the process, the product was filtered twice.

To begin, the first step is water cleaning. Collected raw water first goes through a filter. Afterwards, it is combined with water softener and chemicals. Once the combination enters the pump, stage 2 begins. Electric heaters were used to heat the water. Then, evaporated air produced from heating travel through the cooling pipe, entering a tank used to collect water drops and also mix them with carbon dioxide.

In stage 3, the unflavored carbonated water enters the mixing tank, where colouring, syrup, and flavouring are added to create the final product. After filtering for the last time, the sodas are filled into bottles and cans, which is then packaged and delivered to supermarkets.

Writing task 2

Computers have become a basic necessity for modern humans. Due to its importance, people have been considering introducing them into classrooms, using installed software to teach students directly. However, there has been discussion that computer dependence might have some risk on students. This essay will discuss both views and my opinion.

One has to agree that computers have given us plenty of conveniences. With teaching programs downloaded on computers, students can have direct access to their lessons, even out of school. It also saves cost as students no longer need to buy textbooks. Moreover, an early introduction to computers is helpful for a student's future career, as most jobs are now operated on computers. Lastly, new curriculums for new age essential skills such as coding can be added as well, increasing the competitiveness of students.

On the other hand, there have been signs of humans relying too much on technology. Many people forgot how to spell and calculate by mind since auto-correction and calculators are easily accessible. Moreover, motor skills developed by writing were proven by science to be beneficial to the development of children brains. If this continues, future generations might become simple-minded and lazy.

It can be concluded that although computers can bring convenience into our teaching, there is a risk that we might rely too much on them, leading to laziness and potential cerebral under-development. In my opinion, I believe that the introduction of computers into classrooms for teaching is inevitable. Therefore, scientist and educators should work together to find the best way to navigate this to make sure that it will not cause more harm than good.
