During the 1960s, Australia saw a major number of tourists from Europe. Europeans accounted for almost 53% of the total tourists in Australia. As the years passed, Australia saw a decline in the number of tourists from Europe, which came down to just 10% in 2010. Along with Europe, Britain and the USA also saw a marginal decline in the number of tourists to Australia. From 25% British tourists and 12% American tourists in 1960 the numbers came down to 20% and 7% respectively in 2010. Aisa had a different trajectory altogether. In the 1960s, only 10% of Asian tourists visited Australia but over the period of half a century, there was a drastic increase and as of 2010 Asian tourists account for almost 63% of total tourists in the country.

Writing task 2

Technology is one of the greatest boons to humankind. Over the years, we have seen a lot of new inventions that have made our lives easier. One such invention is that of computers, which started of as a simple device to compute but now it has evolved to such extent that it has become a necessity in our day to day lives. From taking up a whole room in the initial days, the size of the computer has reduced to fit right in the palm of hands and now we can find computers in almost every household.

As computers are slowly replacing traditional files and paperwork in offices, banks, and many workplaces, they should also be introduced in teaching institutions. It is very easy to teach students and make them understand various subjects through animations, video, and images as opposed to traditional reading, text and blackboards. It is easier for students to remember things that they see rather than reading through texts and visualize. For example, it will be very easy for teachers to demonstrate the laws of physics by showing a video related to the subject and then explaining the formulas and calculations rather than reading the texts and making them understand.

As everything has both sides, the introduction of computers in classrooms having all these advantages, it also has some disadvantages. Computers can make learning easy but this will cause a limit on student's imagination power and creativity. Students will be having digital notes, will refrain from taking down written notes and this, in turn, will make them lazy and cause an impact on their writing skills. Along with all these, staying in front of screens for longer durations will cause an impact on the eyesight of students.

As computers have both good and bad effects when introduced in classrooms, I feel there should be a mix of both, that is, along with the traditional ways of teaching, computer-delivered teaching should also be a part of the classroom. It will help develop ideas and help students develop their knowledge more efficiently.
