Task 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

Some people think that hosting an international sports event is good for the country, while some people think it is bad. Discuss both views and state your opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

You should write at least 250 words.

It is generally known that facilitating an international sports event is actually quite good for the country. However, there is a small portion of the public that thinks it should be banned. This exam will examine both views. I strongly advocate for facilitating this kind of events due to the many opportunities which provide not only for people but also for the country.

Nevertheless, some people claim that facilitating international sports could trigger violence in their country because in that period of time people are emotional and frustrated if their team loses. For example, the football world cup is the most popular event in the world and usually, fans are demanding from their players to play well in order to win a cup. However, if they eventually lose, fans could become violent and make unnecessary damage to society. Despite all the dangerous situations, people are usually friendly even if their team does not make it to the finals.

However, facilitating international events is beneficial for many people worldwide because lots of people can not afford a price ticket for such events, and the only way they could see the historic moments in sports events is for example watching television. On the other hand, these events demand a lot of financial support which allows the country to use financial funds provided by organizations that organize the particular competition.

In conclusion, while many people believe that facilitating international sports events should be banned, these events are actually historical moments that are necessary to be organized in every country. Equally the evolving nature of international sports competitions means many concerns will be soon mitigated. Ultimately, organizing international sports competitions in the country is in fact the best sound option, both profitable and enjoyable.
