The diagram below shows the development of cutting tools in the Stone Age. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

You should write at least 150 words.

Writing Task 1

The diagram illustrates the advancement of cutting tools in the Stone Age, preferrably from 0,8 and 1,4 million years until now. After analyzing both models, they seem to have a gradual shape that's descending into a pointy tip. but although both share the same mold, the later tool is slightly altered.

Specifically, its base appears to be roundier which allows more grip and control over the tool. Moreover, from the side view we can see that tool B has developed into a much thinner plate that would result in less force needed to slice objects. Not only that, with the provided view of the front side of both tools, there is a clear difference in attention to the smoothness of the tool, with tool B being polished and shaped more carefully, in addition to the sharpened edges that allows to cut objects more cleanly.

Exclusively, the width of both tools in the first 5 centimeters from the tip has also been altered. From the aspect of tool B, it bears many resemblance to today's modern cutting tools.

In summation, despite having similar motifs with the base being wider than the tip, it is certain that the newer tool bears much better flexibility and sharpness that allows for better slicing and precision.

Some people say that modern technology has made shopping today easier, while others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion

You should write at least 250 words.

The argument stating that modern technology exerts positive impact on shopping still remained a controversial topic. Some people believe that modern technology has made shopping today easier, while others claim that it didn't do much in this field. My essay will look deeper into both of these views.

For starters, globalization is no doubt the best step-up for both consumers and stores. With advancements in technology, online shopping has become widespread and has reached into the global orbit, even in areas that is remote with little access to items, this in turn has allowed many people to buy and sell more conveniently. Additionally, technology has enabled the payment through digital means such as credit cards and cryptocurrencies that made transactions not as time-consuming compared to physical means. Furthermore, with the help of personalized recommendations and advertisements has helped customers discover products that is suitable to their preferences, making the shopping experience far echanced.

On the other hand, however, it is not wrong to claim that modern technology has put shoppers into facing new challanges. The overwhelming amount of choices and information available to buyers can make it difficult for them to make decisions properly. Moreover, the increasingly mumberized marketplace has gave rise to concerns about data privacy and security, in the sense that many personal information is likely exploited by various shopping platforms. Nonetheless, the nature of online shopping lacks social interaction and tactile experience as seen in physical markets.

In my opinion, modern technology has indeed made shopping easier, but it is no doubt to address the stated challenges. The convienience brought by online shopping is as crucial as implementing measures to secure consumers' privacy. By striking a balance between technological development and its current drawbacks, the digital marketplace will be a convenient and fulfilling experience to everyone.
