Some people think that outdoor activities are more beneficial for children’s development than playing computer games. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
You should write at least 250 words.
In today's world, technology is everywhere. We cannot deny that children are more exposed to the machinery world than their parents decades back. However, many parents argue that their children spend most of their time in front of a screen and hence, they would prefer if they spent more time playing outdoor activities rather than inside activities.
First of all, I would like to say that we cannot compare this new generation of children to those born before. Preventing a child from this technology can make him lack behind compared to other children. Moreover, studies have shown that playing video games can be beneficial in the long term. For example, children who are exposed to videos are more likely to be tactical, competitors, better skills in problem-solving and are less likely to give up in difficult situations.
On the contrary, studies have also shown that children who are exposed to video games are more like to be violent, hyperactive, develop health problem at a younger age such as eye-related conditions and more susceptible to get poorer grades at school.
In addition, video games bring the children into a virtual world where everything is possible. They sometimes try to recreate those actions which may seem effortless in their virtual world but may result in accidents or even death.
To conclude, I do not think that either outdoor or indoor is better. Both have its pros and its cons. However, parents should be more aware of the dangers of video games and should limit time playing and restrict dangerous video games.
