Writing Task 1

There are mainly three types of fuel that are produced by the UK, which is Petroleum, natural gas and coal.

Between 1981 and 2000, the production level of petroleum has been always the highest. Initially, the production level of petroleum was close to that of coal which is around 90 energy units (where 1 enery unit is equivalent to energy from one millions tonnes of oil), but it increased gradually during 1981-1985, in 1984-1987 and 1996-2000, the production level of petroleum was at its highest of around 140 energy units. Although the production level dropped back to 100 energy units between 1988 and 1992, the production level had increased very soon during 1993-1996.

The production level of coal has been dropping since 1981, from 80 energy units to approximately 30energy units in 2000. In between 1983 and 1984, the production level of coal decreased sharply from 80 to less than 40 energy units. Though it then increased slowly back to 60 energy units after 1985, it began to drop gradually again afterwards.

Oppositely, the production level of natural gas has been increasing since the year of 1990. Its production level was remained steady before 1991 at around 40 energy units. Starting from1990, it increased from 40 energy units to 100 energy units in 2000, which surpassed the prodution level of coal.

To summarize, the production level of petroleum is the highest in the UK, while that of natural gas

is the second highest surpassing coal in the 1990s, and the production level of coal is expected to keep decreasing throughout years.

In some countries university students live at home with their family while they study, whereas in other countries students attend university in another city.

Do you think the benefits of living away from home during university outweigh the disadvantages?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from own knowledge or experience.

You should write at least 250 words.

In some countries university students live at home with their family while they study, whereas in other countries students attend university in another city.

Some may think that living at home will be more comfortable and less stressful as they could rely on their families just as when they were studying in highschool. But in my opinion, it is the best for students to live away from home during university in order to let themselves to be more independent and more prepared for the adulthood and the lives after they graduated.

Yes I understand that living away from home right after graduating from highschool is hard and challenging, we need to face tonnes of problems like cultural differences, high rent fees, and the serious amount of housework that we need to do all by ourselves instead of our workers and parents at home. And we must make lots of mistakes and get into many troubles. However, these are the most important part of life, all of these help us to grow up to be a strong adult that don't rely on his family and be self independent. Who says growing up is going to be easy?

Living away from home during university not only can help us to be independent, it can also help

us to gain more experiences from other cultries and regions, knowing more friends from different countries. Which could increase our knowledge and also the meaning of our life.

You might think that our families will miss us so much and worry about us, and we should spend more time with them. But there's actually no need to worry about such problem. With the advance of technology, we can video call our families everyday to catch up on each other. Also, I believe that our families and parents would like us to gain more experiences and be more independent instead of keep relying on them.

To conclude, I agree that there're lots of problem we are going to face living away from home during university. But I trust that the life lessons we learnt from every mistakes, troubles and the experiences we gained while living away from home can surely outweigh the hardship and problems that living away alone bring us.
