Writing Task 1

The process flow diagram illustrates the steps undertaken to produce carbonated drinks. Overall the process consists of five stages which can be grouped into three main steps: carbonated water preparation, mixing of ingredients, and packaging.

Raw water undergoes water cleaning as its first stage where it is filtered and softened. IAs far a the first stage is concerned, chemicals are also added to help in cleaning raw water. Next, it is pumped to electric heaters for evaporation then cooled before carbon dioxide is fed into a tank. This process is called carbonation. After that, carbonated water travels in a pipe to a mixing tank where it is agitated with colouring, syrup, and flavouring. This stage, in particular, is an integral part of the whole process because this is where the carbonated drink is produced. The fourth stage is filtering and filling. The carbonated drink is filtered and filled into bottles and cans. Finally, the bottled and canned carbonated drink is placed inside boxes, ready to be transported to supermarkets.

Some people think that outdoor activities are more beneficial for children’s development than playing computer games. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

In the advent of technology, playing computer games has become increasingly popular among children. Although children are now exposed to computer games, some people claim that outdoor activities are more advantageous for children's growth. This essay will explore why outdoor exposure is necessary for children in order to have better development among them.

Parents, in particular, are concerned with the effects computer games has on children. They are justifiably worried about its effect on brain development including changes in personality and behaviour. As parents, they naturally want what they think is best for their children. Research has shown that children who spend more time playing computer games change the structure of the brain. Particularly, the curves and grooves of their brains. This effect causes the growing concern of parents especially when computer games start to disrupt the daily living of their children.

Being exposed to outdoor activities trains children to socialize and effectively communicate what they think. Although computer games may have their advantages, outdoor activities outweigh it. It is also certainly beneficial in teaching children how to think. Moreover, outdoor activities, most of the time, involve team play. When children are playing as a team, they are educated on how to tackle challenges instituted in games. For sure, it involves children cognition. Overall, socializing and communicating properly comes handy as children are put into different situations while growing up.

This essay argued that some people who think that outdoor activities are more essential than playing computer games understand the side effects of playing it. In my opinion, outdoor exposure is absolutely necessary because these activities play an integral part in better children development.
