Writing Task 1

Discussing the procedure of making carbonated drinks, we can observe that the process starts with taking in raw water into the system. The process is then bifurcated into 5 major stages.

The first stage deals with water cleaning. Assuming the raw water comes from a natural resource, for instance: a river, it becomes imperative to treat the water with a softener along with adding chemicals. This is done to keep all unintended particles and organisms out.

The second stage is named Heating evaporation and carbonation. With the help of a pump, water is pushed into the heater. The electric heater facilitates the evaporation part, which is done to further double down on the water cleaning aspect. The steam coming out from the heater is then transferred to the carbonation chamber through a cooling pipe. The steam is converted to water in the cooling pipe and carbon dioxide is added in the carbonation chamber.

This homogenous liquid called carbonated water is further pumped along the supply chain into the third stage. All of the remaining ingredients, for example, coloring, syrup, and flavor, are added and mixed in a centrifugal mixer.

After going through the final filter, the drink is ready to be filled into bottles. The last step is packaging, the completion of which marks the end of the process, and drinks are ready to be dispatched.

Some people think that outdoor activities are more beneficial for children’s development than playing computer games. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

Some people nowadays are of the opinion that a child's development is benefited more by outdoor activities rather than playing computer games. To a certain extent, I agree with the notion. Although, children should be able to experience best of both the worlds, there are a few justifications which tilt the balance in favor of outdoor activities.

In addition to physical duress, Outdoor activities, such as sports, in most cases require the application of intellect as well. Sports such as cricket, football, etc demand analysis and strategy planning along with physical exertion. They also play a major part in teaching children about important development characterstics like team-work, decision making and leadership.

Coming to computer games, there are positives associated with it too but the negatives far outweigh them. There are many games that can be found online that help develop a child's brain, for instance: riddles, brain-mapping, etc. But, reliance on these as a sole medium to replace the outdoor activities is certainly not recommended. Addiction and loss of eyesight are more often than not a cause of worry when dealing with computer games. Apart from this, children are many a times exposed to violence and gory in games at an extremely tender age.

Summing up, the general consensus which has been forming around preference to outdoor activites compared to computer games is justified. While computer games do have some upsides for developing a child's mind, the downsides make it a far less feasible option to make it a replacement to outdoor activites. On the other hand, with almost no ill-effects, outdoor activites while provide a child with hollistic development.
