Writing Task 1

The chart clearly explains the way in which the carbonated drinks are made.

The whole process consists of 5 interconnected stages the first of which is classified as Water cleaning. At this point, the raw water is filtered and softened. Also after chemicals are added the water goes to the electronic heaters through a special pump. From here onwards the second stage which is called 'Heating evaporation and carbonation' takes a start. The heated water moves through a cooling pipe and enriched with carbon dioxide. The third stage will be 'Mixing'. Here, in fact, carbonated water is cycled and accordingly, some portion is distributed to colouring, syrup and flavour. Stage 4 is for filtering and filling. The mixed water will go through the last filtration process and then produced in two forms (such as bottles and cans) after which both will be packed into boxes and sent to supermarkets for further sales.

Some people think that outdoor activities are more beneficial for children’s development than playing computer games. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

It is argued by some that physical engagement is a lot more useful for children in contrast to entertainment on the computer. This issue remains to be controversial, however, I entirely agree with the aforementioned statement and will try to explain my view here.

Firstly, children should have the ability to socialize with their peers so that not struggle with loneliness in the future. As networking plays a considerably vital role in terms of personal development, children should be provided with the opportunity to benefit from field activities. At a young age, an individual is unable to differentiate what has a positive and what poses a negative influence on people. Therefore, it is better for parents to bring up their children by raising awareness about the possible outcomes of every single operation they are involved including time-spending.

Secondly, since the rapid development of technology is altering the lives and working conditions of humanity universally, most of the children have higher chances to face a sedentary lifestyle in near future. If they get used to computer games, it probably requires them to sit long hours during the day which may end up in improper functioning of their body, such as eye-strain and blood circulation. In most cases, if the initial stage of any illness is missed the chances to cure them will be a lot low. That is why children must learn to keep a balance between physical exercise and activities that lead the laziness.

I do understand those who support computer games for children, claiming that modern life demands knowledge and adaptation to IT technologies. However, when measured the gradual results, it is clear that spending more time with peers is more beneficial rather than sitting at the computer for children.

In conclusion, considering the health-related and socialization issues children must reduce the use of computers and dedicate more time to building a good rapport with others roughly at the same age as well as be more attentive to own health.
