Writing Task 1

The flow diagram demonstrates the consequences of deforestation.

Overall, the flow depicts that cutting of froests indirectly leads to loss of water retention in soil which inturn will lead to flooding or endagering of species because of the degradation of vegetation.

Firstly, the procedure of removal of trees by using a heavy logging equipment contracts the soil which makes the soil hard. This results in the rain water running off the soil and cause flooding. Secondly, we also observe that only fewer roots hold the top soil and caused errosion which will lead to the destruction of food crops and loss of biodiversity.

Thirdly, deforestation also increases the risk of burning which inturn causes destruction of scrap wood from logging.Eventually, food for micor-organisms on the waste is lost which results in degradation of vegetation and less biodiversity. Finally, plants also tend to return less moisture to air around which also results in less precipitation and drying of lands.
