The diagram below shows the development of cutting tools in the Stone Age. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.
The diagram illustrates the evolution of cutting tools in the Stone Age from 1.4 million year to 0.8 million year ago. Overall, the tools witness a dramatic change in both size and shape. In addition, this development has improved the effectiveness of cutting instruments.
From the front view, the tool A has rough edges and an unclear shape. Meanwhile, tool B has various changes, such as a smoother surface, a symmetrical tear-like shape along with a pointy tip. Those features gives tool B a superior capacity when it comes to hunting, cutting food or penetrate things.
In terms of side, tool A proved to be larger than tool B, which would come handy in cutting large products. However, tool B and tool A showed a significant difference when it comes to edges. It is clearly that the former's edges were rough and blunt, while the latter's were sharper, more refined and knife-like.
