The flow chart illustrates the consequence of deforestation. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features.

You should write at least 150 words.

Writing Task 1

The flow chart below illustrates the overall effect of deforestation on the ecosystem. As illustrated, cutting of forests results in many ways in which deforestation can occur.

The first pathway to deforestation is from the impact of the heavy equipments or machinery used in cutting down trees and logging. Their weight compresses the soil which makes it'baked'therefore surface water runs off rather than sink and the result of this is flooding.

The second pathway is from the resultant fewer plants and hence fewer roots which hold the top soil and return moisture to the atmosphere. With depleted roots, the top soil is easily eroded and with lesser humidity there is lesser precipitation hence lesser rainfall with a resultant drought that degrades vegetation. That is deforestation.

When forests are cut down, the likelihood of burning either delibrately or accidentally increases. This further endangers the ecosystem and the environment by destroying micro-organisms and animals habitats and food cycles. Overall there will be vegetation degradation and thus deforestation.

In many workplaces, online communication is getting more common than meeting face to face. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

You should write at least 250 words.

The disadvantages of online communication in the work place is more than in person communication in my opinion.

Human to human interactios have decreased since the advancement of technology and especially communication technology.

You can be in your corner at work or your bedroom and close business deals or gets work done without even knowing who is at the other end of the communique. I believe that this is not proper communication because communication involves not just speaking but also gestures, body language, countenance and even emotions expressed as a result of the information that is gotten. With online communication you can miss a lot of information as to weather the information passed is gotten.

Due to miscommunication I would say in my own words, alot can go wrong in the work place. For example, when a boss tells his subbodinates to meet in the conference hall for a brief meeting in say five minutes and there is alot of work to be done, and most people roll their eyes and grumble, if this was said 'in person's, the boss can see that the timing is bad and and can re-schedule the meeting to allow them finish their designated tasks and therefore, in the meeting what ever information given, would be received with a clear head and understood better.

Although online communication saves a lot of time that could be spent on just walking to and fro from the say conference hall to achieve more task, and you can reach a lager number of people in or outside the organisation, it is a deter to health. Walking around is good for one's health in terms of keeping fit. This is totally eliminated in online communication.

Online communication is a major contributor to sedentary lifestyles i belive. And it comes with its accompanying long term health conditions such as Hypertension and Diabetes.
