Task 1
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
The flow chart illustrates the consequence of deforestation. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features.
You should write at least 150 words.

The graph illustrates how the continual forest destruction negatively affect the environment as well as the humanity. These effects can be grouped into four major group.
The first one is caused by the process of logging. Many sophisticated vehicles, which make the soil denser because of their insane weight, are involved in this process. As a consequence, the water contained in the soil will be extracted, which cause flooding. Another problem is erosion as the top soil is no longer held by the roots.
The act of deforestation also decrease the diversity of the species living there since the wood, which is not only the habitat but also the food supply of many habitant there, is wasted. This also lead to the invasion of various pioneer species which take over the nutrition. Drought is also another considerable environmental issue that exists since the less the number of trees is, the less the moisture emitted to air is.
Task 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
In many workplaces, online communication is getting more common than meeting face to face. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?
You should write at least 250 words.
It is a common belief that the developing of sophisticated technology has led to the way to communication online at work. While I agree that this has it own advantages, I still believe that the drawbacks are still more considerable.
It is true that the development of the computer network make it more convenient for us to communicate with each other than that in the past. Thanks to this, we can easily keep in touch with colleagues. We can either call them or text them or have a video chat with them just by a few clicks. Another benefit is the ease of data transportation since we can send document files directly to others without the need of printing them and other physical activities.
Despite the positive arguments above, I would argue that the excessive use of this new way of communication can be harmful to the employees as well as the employers. The first reason is the lack of emotion expressed. It is correct that we can think workplace as a mini society with many interpersonal relationships, which means the emotion of each individuals matters as important as that is in a family. Unfortunately, we hardly ever show our emotion in lines of texts but in body languages, which seems to be neglected when communicating online. The consequence made by this can lower the empathy between each others so that the productivity may also be negatively effected.
In conclusion, although I agree that online communication in workplaces is beneficial to us, I am of the opinion that we should not abuse it.
